Difference Between Square and Rectangle
A square and a rectangle are both types of quadrilaterals, which are four-sided shapes. However, there is a difference between the two shapes. A rectangle is a four-sided shape that has four right angles and opposite sides that are equal in length. A square is also a four-sided shape with four right angles, but all sides are equal in length, making it a special type of rectangle.
In other words, all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. Additionally, the diagonals of a square are congruent and bisect each other at right angles, while a rectangle has diagonals that are congruent but do not necessarily bisect each other at right angles.
besides this, a square is a type of rectangle and their diagonals are perpendicular bisectors of each other but a rectangle is not a type of square and their diagonals are not perpendicular bisectors of each other.

What is a Rectangle?
The word rectangle is derived from the Latin rectangulus by the joining of two words, rectus “right or proper” and angulus “angle“. like a square, according to Euclidean plane geometry, it also has four sides and is known as a quadrilateral. their opposite sites are parallel to each other with equal measures of their opposite faces. it also has 4 right angles or 90-degree angles on each side.
as of square, rectangle also equiangular quadrilateral shape. the equiangular is a shape whose all angles are equal to 90° or (360°/4 = 90°). it is also known as a parallelogram. if a rectangle with vertices ABCD is non-square then it is said to be oblong.
