Difference between Land Habitats and Water Habitats
[wp_ad_camp_1]
The major difference between water and land habitats is that land habitats use the earth’s surface as a medium and do not provide greater support to the body while water habitats use water as a medium and provide greater support to their bodies than air.
Land Habitats | Water Habitats |
1. There is more oxygen in the air. | 1. There is less oxygen in water. |
2. Dissolved substances are not present in Land Habitats. | 2. Dissolved substances are present in water, for example different kinds of salt. |
3. Temperature changes more rapidly (drastic) in the terrestrial environment. | 3. Temperature does not change more rapidly (drastic) in this environment. |
4. Land habitat provides a great variety of cover and shelter. | 4. Water habitat does not provide such great variety of cover and shelter like the Land Habitat. |
5. Earth surface, as a medium, does not provide greater support to the body. | 5. Water, as a medium, provides greater support to the body than air. |
6. Land provides a greater variety of breeding places than water. | 6. Water does not provide a greater variety of breeding places. |
